Photoshop action for repetitive procedure

Ever been in a task in photoshop that you have to apply certain procedures to a dozens of images or even hundreds? I did, the silly thing is that I spent tremendous hours before discovering that these could be simplified using photoshop actions

This very useful thing is there all the time, grinning watching me punishing myself.

How does this work?

This is like the equivalent for MS word macro wherein you can record the actions/procedures.

  1. Click the circle button (second from the given image above) to start recording.
  2. Give your action a name like, resize image.
  3. Make the actions you're supposed to do, ex. resize, apply desaturate etc.
  4. After you're done click the square button to stop recording.
  5. Your new action was recorded.
  6. Open the images that needs repetitive procedures/actions
  7. Click on your action and click the play button.
  8. Photoshop will play the actions to the image, so easy that you'll want a cup of coffee while doing this.
